12 Mar 2007 : National Leagues :Updated fixtures for the 2007 National League Div 3 are now available.
27 Feb 2007 : SASA Player of the Year Awards : Congratulations to Caledonia's Bruce Henderson and Alasdair Campbell who were presented with the 2006 Senior and Junior Player of the Year Awards at the Awards Dinner in Carnoustie at the weekend (Photo)
22 Jan 2007 : National Women's Water Polo League : Caledonia lost by a single goal in their last two Div 3 matches at Manchester last weekend and finished mid-table.
18 Jan 2007 : NWPL AGM 2007 : David Baxter reports that this year's AGM was very straightforward. There was discussion on the escalating costs of travelling expenses for referees and table officials. Each club will be asked to provide a list of officials so that travel costs can be minimised. The position regarding Portobello was also discussed. The ASA is aware of the urgency for hearing Portobello's appeal against suspension for 2007. There are various options to be considered if the appeal fails.
09 Jan 2007 : NWPL AGM 2007 : AGM will take place at 11.00am on Sunday 14 January 2007 at the usual place, ie the King George VI Memorial Hall, Hockley Heath. There are no substantial rule changes or changes in officers proposed. David Baxter will represent Caledonia at AGM. Note - Division I club Portobello have been suspended from playing in England during 2007 following an ASA disciplinary hearing. However, we understand this is subject to an appeal so whilst it currently looks like Portobello may not be able to participate in Division I in 2007 this may change in due course
10 Dec 2006 :National Women's Water Polo League : Caledonia won 2 out of 3 matches in week 4 of Div 3 last weekend to maintain a mid-table position.
05 Dec 2006 : Thanks Jim : Jim Roxburgh, City of Leeds, sent this message to Caledonia team "Sorry to hear that your guys have decided not to accept Sutton’s challenge to maintain your position in the NWPL Div 2. I hope you have a successful season in Div 3 and that when you do come back into Div 2 you have a stronger team and bit a bit more luck."
28 Nov 2006 : Play-off withdrawal : It has been decided that Caledonia will not, after all, contest the play-off with Sutton & Cheam. There are difficulties in raising a team. With the expense involved, and the likelihood that team would struggle to compete next year in Div 2 it has been decided that it would be better to consolidate the team's position in Div 3. The jump to Div 2 was too much, especially with the injuries and availability. David Stewart/Murray McLeod
27 Nov 2006 : Play-off details : "I have received confirmation this morning that Sutton and Cheam have challenged Caledonia for our place in Division 2 next season. Having spoken to the players at the Bath weekend and with Alan Donaldson last night, I have on behalf of Caledonia accepted the challenge. The game will take place at Aldershot on Saturday 9th December, with a likely start time of 2/2.30 in the afternoon. This works in well with EasyJet flights to travel there and back on the same day if wished. I will not be in attendance as I have an exam at college on that day but will be their in spirit!" Murray McLeod
25 Nov 2006 : Play-off : Sutton & Cheam take 2nd place in Div 3 of the National League and, no doubt, will now challenge Caledonia for 2nd Div spot
14 Nov 2006 : National League : Coach's Report now available. Team photo
13 Nov 2006 : Ladies National League : Caledonia lost 3-13 to Otter, drew 6-6 with Hucknall and lost 6-8 to Invicta on Weekend #3 at Middlesborough. Full details at League site
12 Nov 2006 : Caledonia will have to play off to stay in the 2nd Division next season. Invicta had a runaway 30-3 win over Reading while Caledonia lost 9-13 to Leeds.
11 Nov 2006 :
National League
:
Bright start to Weekend #5 for Caledonia with a 9-8
victory over Invicta. The Man of the Match, Bruce Henderson.
made a crucial save in dying seconds to stop Invicta claiming a share of
the points. The fight to avoid the play-off position is now very tight.
Tyldesey and Invicta are on 9 points with Caledonia on 8.
Wheels came off Caledonia's campaign in their second match, losing
unexpectedly to bottom club Reading 7-11. Only hope now is for Reading
to beat Invicta while Caledonia must beat Leeds in
Sunday's matches.

02 Oct 2006 :
Reflections on Sheffield
"Ifs, buts and maybes
Those involved with
Caledonia would do well to remember that
referees will make bad decisions, but the difference will be in how
we react. Rudyard Kipling's If sums it up for
me: "If you can keep your head when all about you are losing
theirs …"
We may be sixth in the league at the moment, but the competition is
wide open - we have nine games left remember. Solihull , the
Division Two leaders, lost at Ponds Forge to Otter, a team we
defeated in Loughborough. It will take hard work, determination and
character to bounce back from the disappointments of last weekend.
However, we have the ability to succeed and need to emphasise the
positives and work on the negatives." Matt McGeehan
(Match Reports)
01 Oct 2006 :
Caledonia
beaten at last
The second match of the weekend resulted in a 11-14 loss to Hucknall. This
match was a tale of missed chances (mainly man-up) and wrong choices
taken. Although Dave Stewart was available he was 'fouled-out' in
the second quarter and Caledonia suffered their first ever
defeat in the National Leagues. Scorers - Calum Fraser - 3; Alasdair
Campbell 2; Steven Adams 2 Dave Baxter 1; Dave Stewart 1; Neil
Strachan 2(correction)
Caledonia's final match of the weekend also resulted in
defeat, DWPC 12 Leeds 15. Again a story of missed chances and
mistakes as the team lost their second successive match.
30 Sep 2006 :
Another Draw for Caledonia
Caledonia's first match at Ponds Forge today vs
Reading ended tied at 13-13. Caledonia were fielding a team missing
several first seven players and had youngsters Simon Metcalfe and Andrew Woodall
involved for the first time this season. It took another storming finish - 2
goals down with 28 secs left - to maintain the unbeaten record. The equaliser
came with an Ally Campbell/Calum Fraser break with a few seconds remaining.
Scorers : Vesolin Voynov 1; Ally Campbell 2; Steven Adams 1; David
Baxter 1; Neil Strachan 2; Calum Fraser 5; Matt McGeehan 1.
20 Sep 2006 : Notice to NWPL Division Two Secretaries.
Firstly, thank you for your support in helping us to overcome pool problems at Loughborough. On behalf of the league, I can only repeat our sincere apologies for what happened. In rearranging the three "lost" matches, we were determined if at all possible to avoid the need for clubs to commit themselves to an additional weekend/extra travel/expense. Fortunately, we have managed to secure extra time at Ponds Forge on 30 September/1 October. Accommodating the additional games does necessitate a significant revamp of the programme. Therefore, once again, your co-operation in completing the revised schedule will be very much appreciated. Games will now take place as follows :-
